I have been designing games and game modules, with a focus on tabletop roleplaying games, since I was 16 years old. Over time I expanded my horizons to include card games and, more recently, digital games. My major projects for the past several years have been COMIC Roleplay System and Mythos, a living card game. In total I have nearly 20 years experience designing games and content. My game design philosophy focuses on creating unique experiences and new systems while relying on a tested framework for players to be able to fall back on. I firmly believe that players create the best experiences and as a designer my role is to give them the tools to do so.
To that end I rely on the the skills I learned during my tenure as an intelligence analyst in the United States Air Force and those learned in pursuit of my degree in economics. I bring creative insight, problem solving, and critical thinking skills with me in all my endeavors. I have a excellent grasp of statistics and statistical concepts and rely on them often to solve the difficult challenges that appear regularly during the course of designing a game. I am currently working on a game design certificate, and in between rounds of schooling I am working on obtaining the PSM certification from SCRUM.org.
The game I play most often these days is Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: War of the Visions. In December 2019 my game Dark Heaven was one of only five selected for development at the Sacramento Developers Collective Progressive Game Jam. Unfortunately development was cut short, and eventually cancelled, due to the onset of Covid 19.
